About Anna’s Place

If you are looking for places to stay in Greyton then look no further because Anna’s Place is one seriously lekker slaap.

Anna’s Place (also known as Anna’s Country Accommodation) is a totally unique self-catering Greyton accommodation. The jungle garden was planted by the owner, Anna, when she moved to Greyton in the mid 1980’s and the first room to be converted into a luxury accommodation unit was Lavender Cottage.

The History of Anna’s Place

Before this conversion, Lavender Cottage was actually the location of the Dolce Foods production, where the delicious, famous Dolcezze Cheese Straws were made. Today, Lavender Cottage is a cozy and comfy two sleeper place to stay that can fit into any traveler’s budget.

The next room to be added was Mark Cottage. This Italian style room with two individual beds hidden behind a privacy curtain is dog friendly, offering a small closed-off yard at the back.

Both Lavender and Mark Cottages open directly onto the renowned Greyton Village Saturday Morning Market. The Greyton Market has been going for decades and its where you can find locally made products and food offerings. The marketplace was rebuilt some years ago, after a fire burned down the old market.

The Greyton Treehouse and Tree Loft are the two stars of the show. Built right up into the tree tops of a pair of giant oak trees these two luxury accommodation units will make you feel like you have come for a Greyton retreat. You’ll find hundreds of beautiful images from past guests on Instagram and Facebook. Anna’s treehouse in Greyton absolutely is the best accommodation.

The Garden Cottage is the other place to stay in the jungle garden. It has its own little courtyard garden within the bigger forest canopy, so you can truly escape the city here and come and listen to the chirping of all the birds that live in the branches.

Amenities

All of the guest rooms are equipped with a fridge, kettle, cooking facilities (including outdoor braai facilities), a fan and heater (or fireplace). Each is provided with fresh linen and towels. In addition, each room is stocked with liquid hand and body soap; washing liquid; wifi and television; lights and candles for load shedding; and extras such as a box of Dolcezze Cheese Straws.

Location of Anna’s Place

Located right in the centre of the village, it is within walking distance of the picturesque Oak Street and Vigne Lane. If you are looking to walk a little further, there are many hiking routes in the Greyton Nature Reserve and the Cape Nature Riviersonderend Nature Reserve beyond.

Another iconic location to visit close by is the Moravian Mission and Church complex in Genadendal, 5km away from Greyton, which established in 1738 by a Moravian missionary and a small group of Khoi; the first mission station in Southern Africa.

Just under two hours away from Cape Town, this is the perfect getaway spot for a romantic weekend. You may think that Anna’s Place is in Hermanus (or even Mossel Bay and Jeffreys Bay!) but that’s because Greyton is only 45 minutes’ drive up the Hemel-en-Aarde valley. Take this scenic route and stop off for some of the wine tasting on offer in the Overberg.

So if you are looking for where to stay in Greyton, or simply the best accommodation in the Western Cape (and possibly even the best accommodation in South Africa) then you have come to the right place: Anna’s Place.
